The Police trucks have lighter weathering - less in in the Future - plus light dry brushing. Varnish The next job was several light coats of Testors DullKote to matt the vehicles down. Detail and metal I painted surfaces that were to be metal in Army Painter Sterling Silver. I also used the same colour to underpaint areas I wanted to be coloured glass - lights, rear view mirrors etc. Most of the former was done via dry brushing - the forks on the fork lifts, for example. The latter was done with a fine brush. Lacquer The windows were painted with smoke Tamiya lacquer. This darkens them slightly and re- glosses them after the matt varnish. In addition, all of the lights and such like were painted in a variety of coloured ‘clear’ lacquers - yellow, amber, blue and red - depending on their position. And that was it: lots of diecasts as mostly ‘scenery’ vehicles with the minimum of repainting. John Treadaway
