Maidstone Wargames Club outing 2015
Facing those were a Prime Armoured
detachment of Slammers (the rather flaky June
Ranson's), a detachment of Stewart Regiment
and a detachment of the West Riding Yeomanry.
Again, each detachment was operated by one
player. Other than Captain Ranson (with her
mental health issues varying her leadership
abilities on a turn by turn basis, plus her
personal skills of Tactical Genius and Command
Material), her force of up-armoured Blower tanks
and Combat Cars had extra skills of Double tap,
Field Mechanic, Snapshot, Hull down,
Communication Technician, Enhanced Data
Link, and Anti-ATGW Enhanced Data Link.
The Stewarts had Major FitzAlan with Elite skills
of Command Material, Inspirational Leader,
Shaper of Men and Tactical Genius. Finally the
West Riding Yeomanry (my own command) had
Lieutenant Cain in charge with Elite skills: of
Inspirational Leader, Tank Hunter, Dauntless
and Double tap.
Objectives for the game was the taking and
holding of two hydroponics greenhouses full of
valuable drugs witch both sides were arguing
over.
The first couple of turns saw both teams
deciding on the best approaches for their
respective forces and - in the end - the
Slammers faced off on one flank against the
TAS and the opposite flank and centre saw the
Sulwesi take on the Stewarts and the WRY.
Much use was made of the extensive road
system by everyone (except the TAS who - with
grav vehicles - didn't need or benefit from the
easier going surface afforded by tarmac). The
Slammers and allies also used the charge rules
to maximise their progress.
