New Ukrainian Army in 15mm
Secondary weapons and infantry
The Coil Gun is capable of missile defence but is crude
in comparison to powergun or laser systems. It is fitted
to an external mount and is usually fired from within
the vehicle, whether in AA/Anti Artillery or any other
mode. In addition, all of the CMG vehicles come fitted
with Drodz 6 ablative anti buzzbomb defensive panels.
The Sokol IFV has just the heavy Coil gun as a main
weapon and uses the space in the rear of the vehicles
as a crew compartment for 2 TUs of infantry who exit
from the rear ramp. In addition, for anti armour work,
the Sokol also carries an additional missile weapon
alongside the main gun. These are either fast firing, long range buzzbombs or light ATGWs depending on the fitment
(either can be carried, depending on the anticipated
terrain to be fought over but they must be swapped out
before entering combat as the process takes over an
hour).
While NUA infantry companies were, for the most part,
similarly equipped to the earlier Zaporoskiye Brigade
troops with rifle coil guns and larger calibre support
weapons of a similar design, some changes were made.
Specialist Assault teams in the NUA were heavily armed
and wore full suit body armour - and the Tank Hunters,
though they had the standard half armour suits, carried
sophisticated long range buzzbombs.
