Thunderbolt & Lightning: Very very frightening!

Conclusion It was a long but fun game: what did we expect? We had a lot of toys on the table! We started off with twelve and a half detachments. That’s 30 TUs of trained Antargrans and 160 veteran TUs and it took about 5 or 6 hours of relaxed play time (followed by a restorative Chinese meal!). In the end, Tony had lost a lot of his older Lightings (all to mortar, missile and the odd tank gun - and even the withering hail of many, rapid firing coil guns – from the Thunderbolts) along with their specialty Captain. Tony had also taken hits on the Heavier new Lighnings and some of the Wolverines got shot up by Waldheim Infantry and the Antargran Gryphon medium tanks. But both the Lighnings and the Wolverines held their ground and didn’t get to take a morale test (albeit, in one instance, by the skin of their teeth) I lost all of the Thunderbolts (with Colonel Chiro and his 2IC). I also lost the command and all of the tanks in the Antargrans and most of the heavy hitting power of the Waldheims and – more importantly – I’d not got within three feet  of placing a vehicle at the doors of any of the putative HQ buildings (my actual objective). A convincing win for the defenders and well played Tony “I love Rapid Fire” Francis!
