Painting the West Riding Yeomanry in 15mm
Spray primer and top coat Army Painter Army Green primer was sprayed over everything.  Army Painter Skeleton Bone was then sprayed through a fabric mask held tight over the models. The bodies were then masked with tape and the skirts sprayed with regular grey automotive (ie ‘cheap’) primer. Some panelwork on the fabric hover skirt was highlighted using was added using Army Painter Soft Tone ink - I figured they were replacement panels in a slightly different/newer material. Stowage After basic painting came the stowage. I bought pre-painted items from Hobby Master in 1/72nd (as usual) but added very little. This was glued on and then the shading started. Dipping The stowage was dipped in ink tinted Future/Klear (floor polish). When dry I added home-made decals printed from a laser printer, with letraset numbers. I was also gifted some ‘nose art’ decals which looked great but - as with many decals that are not printed professionally - they have no white component and show up badly on what is essentially a dark green tank. So I didn’t use many... Matt varnish After all that work had dried I used Testors Dullcote. After that metal highlights were added using Shining Silver and lenses for vision blocks and lights using Tamiya clear lacquers.
