Two 15mm Cub night games - Slammers win & lose
Game 2: Antargrans & NUA versus SlammersThe Antargrans had a Panzer detachment with Colonel Brandt in charge and another detachment of paid mercenaries - the New Ukrainian Army - with a Lieutenant running a Heavy Armoured detachment. Between them, that added up to four pretty big tanks (2 Molots and 2 Zentaurs), a nasty Buran AA, about 6 medium tanks (2 Xaocs and 4 Gryphons) and a lot of APCs and some infantry. The Antargrans had a sniper which they concealed beforehand as they were, again, defending Dulwich City. The Slammers had two heavy Single Armoured troops. By ‘heavy’, each had an extra tank and one had swapped its command car for a combat car (and used a command tank instead). Each was led by a personality sergeant (Sparrow and Scratchard) and were in distinctive command vehicles giving them the +2LV bonus with optional rule Leading from the Front. The Slammers came on over open ground, eschewing the road system and the speed it might bring for cover. They took a long time getting to their objective (which was to park vehicles along side the low brown building (a science and agricultural centre full of seed stock).Although they had similar leadership to the NUA, they consistently lost initiative to the Antargrans but - as the defenders hadn’t known which direction they were coming from - they spent a couple of turns manoeuvring vehicles that had been covering other approaches to the city toget them into good firing positions, all of which took time.
