Force Arrival The Slammers arrive at the bridge at the start of the game, coming on from the east. Their first turn is spent in deployment. The river may be crossed by the light Combat Cars, jeeps and infantry on skimmers. It may not be crossed by the heavy blowers, the wrecker/transport or the infantry on foot and is also a barrier to the wheeled and tracked mercenary force that they have to stop. The Slammers infantry contain experienced engineers. When on the actual bridge (and off of their transport vehicle) the infantry can be instructed to set charges. This takes 1d3 turns to set for the infantry units but only when they are in place on the bridge (or even under it!). After placing the explosives the infantry may be used in the usual fashion (ie for shooting things). The Commandos arrive on the table as three separate detachments in a random order and at random locations: points 1, 2 or 3 on the west of the map. One random detachment arrives at the end of the first turn at a random location (bowl 1d3) A second random detachment arrives at a random location (bowl 1d3) in turn 1 2 or 3 (bowl a 1d3). So it may arrive at the end of the first turn with the first detachment or the second or the third. A third detachment – at a random location (bowl 1d3) – may only turn up at the end of turn 2 or 3 (bowl a 1d3 in the second turn: 1 = that turn = 2 or 3 = turn 3).
