Painting the Slammers Command car 15mm by  Brigade Models
Spray primer and top coat Tamiya Silver was sprayed over everything. Then the plenum skirts were brush painted Army Painter Monster and Leather brown in panels.  Figures were undercoated with Army Painter Leather Brown though, on reflection, I should have used a lighter shade (like the last time for the crews on the Combat Cars) of Desert Sand. Panel detail As the plenum skirts are meant to be rusty steel so I added some alternate coloured panels and some rusting by hand using a combination of darker brown and terracotta coloured paints. Stowage I decided to keep these without any external stowage. Dipping I used a Future/Klear (floor polish) plus 10% black/brown ink mix and dipped the vehicles in. When dry I added the new decals from Ainsty and then washed in various Army Painter inks as I did want the Cars tolook ‘used’! The decals went down very nicely over the Future with Microsol solution with no visible carrier film. Matt varnish After all that work had dried I reached for the Testors Dullcote. After that metal highlights and some detail on the infantry (weapons and visors) were added using Shining Silver. If you are using these remember to invoke the optional rule Leading from the Front for a +2 Leadership Points for using a visually obvious ‘fire magnet’ vehicle like a command car!
