Some backgroundThe drug cartels on Cantilucca used a selection of improvised vehicles, as did some of the Desert rebel forces fighting in the Mosite rebellion on Ambiorix. I wanted to build some models for use in a couple of scenarios, rather than as a regular ‘force’: what I had in mind weren’tsomething that would stand well against a regular force or any mercenary company (as the stories, of course, suggest!)I wanted to replicate some of those with whatever materials I had to hand and what I could order on ebay as diecasts. MaterialsOn that basis I made these purchases•Takara Tomica Tomy #56 Komatsu Bulldozer (1/109th: £13)•Scale Alloy Mine Dump Truck (1/60th: £17)•Volvo Tipping Lorry (1/87th £6.50)•Etched Brass grill sheets (£7)•Wills Plastic Corrugated Iron Sheets (£4.50)•Wills Plastic Corrugated Steel Sheets (£4.50)•Turrets, figures and guns from, Ground Zero Games, Brigade Models and Darkest Star Games. My other modelling materials and supplies were as follows: Paints & Glue fromArmy Painter, Weathering Spray effects from PSC, Colour Party Basetex for tyres and VMS Flexy 5K PE super glue.
