Federal Mercenaries Fasolini's Company Fasolini's Company are a unit of Infantry specialists (detailed in the Crucible rule book pages 59 and 85). They employ highly trained veteran infantry using heavy conebore weapons and grenade launchers with advanced buzzbomb tank hunters, light mortars and hypersonic missiles. The conebores are heavy with a large recoil (to the point where troopers rarely fire them on full auto). The ammunition uses an osmium penetrator forced down a squeeze bore barrel made of synthetic diamond (with a shroud around the barrel to dissipate the prodigious heat created during firing). The conebores have good optical sights and a long range but are powerful enough to go right through lighter vehicles (like Republican APC's...) and out the other side. The infantry use clamshell armour over 'chameleon' pattern fatigues that conform to the local surroundings after a minute or two. The heavier weapon system used by Fasolini's Company is, in effect, a deployable weapon rather than a towed one. Moved on a wheeled transporter, the weapon system itself is tracked but has only limited mobility in combat, however it can be fired from the back of the transporter vehicle. Some variants of this deployable weapon - which is a formidable AAA system but also lethal to lighter ground targets - are a single barreled Oto Melara 410C Gun System but others are the up-rated four barreled variant the 440CGS.
