Podel's Lions This force - nominally under the leadership of Colonel Traian Stanescu (although it is doubtful if he was actually stationed on Cecach for long - if at all) used heavy, locally produced AFVs and well armoured infantry and were experienced veterans of a number of campaigns. Their AFVs are built under licence from Rheinmetall Swoboda and include the Rheinmetall RRA5 Thor MBT (similar in design to the Cecach produced Maczek) and its variants including the Zwilling Support tank with twin 9cm autocannons, a Thor command vehicle and the Taifun AAA tank with a unique heavy gatling Coil-Gun. Heavier AFV (fusion powered) blowers employed include the Rheinmetall RA11 Woden with a 9cm Railgun, a coaxial  6cm cannon and a twin HSW but an alternative turret is used for an assault tank: the RA16A2 Helheim has twin versions of the heavy gatling Coil-Gun used on the 'Taifun' but without the ability to fire high angle. However, supporting that enormous weight of fire, are heavy ATGW rockets mounted on the turret which - aside from their anti-armour role - also very useful when attacking buildings and other fixed structures. For extra defence, all of the Wodens and Helheims can be fitted with Schürzen - side skirts to increase their armour against buzzbombs which, as they do not have an active system, are invaluable in close assault work against tank hunting infantry. Lighter AFVs used by the Lions include the Rheinmetall RA116 Baldur with a 6cm Autocannon and an ATGW launcher or the RA127M variant with a rapid fire ATGW system.
