THE GAME ITSELF: the denouementAt the ‘south end, Tony’s blowers and calliopes did what they should do and were distracted by blowing the crap out of the flyers and their disgorged infantry hiding in the woods and – after a few turns – I eventually was down to just the Night Crow Stealth who was the last to die. Tony’s forces had taken hits but he still had a working blower at that point which could roam the battlefield in an unstoppable way. At the other end, his ground forces lost all by one of his working Kraus tanks (and that had a mobility hit) plus many other units had lost main weapons (with some of the APCs losing their passengers before they got to debus).CONCLUSIONTechnically, the Eaglewings had won the scenario (just) but it was a pyrrhic victory with devastating losses. But they had destroyed the three shuttles and three spaceport buildings which were their real objectives, even though it had cost them everything. In the end, Tony’s remaining blower could have (and would have) mopped up everything I had left.FINAL THOUGHTSI’d like to say many thanks to Tony for coming down and playing. and being a bit of a sacrificial lamb to the slaughter. As for Scenario Activation: Granularity is the key! use the leadership points system to it’s full advantage and... Get it right in future!
