HASHEMITE UNITS The Hashemites have a more regularised force compared Assad-4 ‘Zulfiqar’ 8x8but they still have to operate in the same environment. This means that they employ a selection of rather heavier buggies than the Sincanmo, specifically the Fajr 4x4 and the Mobarez 6x6. These are outfitted with a selection of weapon types, predominently railguns, Hypersonic Missiles and the heavier Kestrel medium ATGW. However, heavier weapons are called for and these are fitted to larger vehicles. The Assad-3 ‘Shahab’ (meaning ‘Meteor’) is a 6x6 used to either carry gatling railguns or twin Kestrel missile launchers but there is a variant used as an APC. For a heavier weapons load, the Hashemites employ the Assad-4 ‘Zulfiqar’. This is a well armoured 8x8 campable of mounting a large turreted weapon and still having space to carry infantry. The Zulfiqar (named after the Sword of Ali or: "the spine-splitter") can be used for mounting a fearsome MLRS system to hit the Hashemite’s enemies at range but – for closer in attack work – there is also a variant fitted with twin 9cm Enhanced Combustion Assisted Plasma weapons: some of the newest and best available. A combination of these vehicles – plus the training in off road and faast desert driving that Major Zeid’s forces have specialised in – make the Hashemites a force capable of taking on many non-mercenary forces.
