The second Shaman based vehicle was the Mantra. Having seen the success of the Icarus Industries Combat Car, as used by - primarily - the Hammer's Slammers mercenary company, the HNA decided that they needed a similar vehicle. Mitsusaki Industries built a suitable vehicle of similar size to the Icarus offering, although rather wider, but with all of the same features: three gun positions offering a wide offensive field of fire. These weapons would be 1cm Gatling railguns offering equal penetration to powerguns, although rather less effective against infantry, and not effective at all against ATGWs but - again - Mitsusaki's brief was to include the spaced armour - and a more substantial splinter shield - to allow for better defence against these threats. The Magnus APC - built by Hiroseke-Toyota - used to carry infantry is an unglamorous battlefield taxi in comparison to the Mantra. It is, however, capable of holding a dozen troops in the rear, plus its crew, and is armed with a support weapon only: it is not designed for combat but does use the same spaced armour as the Mitsusaki vehicles. The Wizard hover jeeps are light vehicles with minimal armour (although - again - Hiroseke-Toyota have licensed the Mitsusaki originated spaced armour system) and can carry 4 troopers in the rear, or a sniper team, or a missile system for anti-armour work. There is also a command version with extensive C3 equipment: the HNA make extensive use of communications systems and this is reflected in their superior leadership capabilities. The Kalan Scotsmen from Stewart had a tough fight n their hands: even with extensive armour at their disposal, if the Hiroseki colonists and the HNA tightened their grip on the planet, it was only a matter of time before the stakes were upped and the vast iridium wealth of Kalan was mortgaged against the hiring of mercenaries…
