One name the Ontos (after an obscure Terran reference) mounted fixed banks of hypersonic missile launchers instead of the turret laser. This was found to be a poor tank destroyer as the penetration was in fact less than the laser and the restricted forward arc didn't help tactically but - with its prodigious rate of fire - was welcomed by the infantry as an assault support tank when attacking bunkers and other fixed positions. Towards the end of the civil war, Mitsusaki developed the Warlock for the HNA. This replaced the Medium laser with a 15cm powergun (the biggest they could fit in the turret) and added the ATGW load. These were issued experimentally to units on a one per detachment basis. The Shaman hull was also used for to other vehicles. The first was an MLRS. The Legion 1 was, in fact, the first incarnation of an MLRS system on a Mitsusaki hulls - the Legion 2 on the Sohei hull being the second, larger attempt, but the Legion 1 was moderately successful. They were not as well armoured as the Legion 2, being based on a lighter hull, but often found themselves in the front line operating along side their more heavily defended cousins. The Legion 1 carried a smaller missile load but, like the Legion 2, it was mounted in a turret box above the hull.
