The grey primer has the real
advantage of bringing the whole
model together and stopping it
looking like the collection of old tat
that it really is and helps, I find,
focus on shapes rather than the
colours of the individual
components.
The only exception I made to the
over all primer look was the silver
barrel I’d stuck in the rear of the
building. It was so nicely pre-
painted as a toy, with yellow and
black ‘hazard’ tape and a number
already applied, I didn’t want to
waste the effort so carefully I
masked that out with some broad
masking tape before I started
spraying.
