After the last lot of dry brushing
the model was given another coat
of smelly Testors Dullcoat,
Then it was onto the colours that I
didn’t want to be matted. Metal
areas were given a three stage
process of GW Boltgun Metal,
then Chainmail and finally Mithril
Silver in lessening amounts. I did
the same thing to the ‘window’
areas.
The metal work is very effective
over the rust but - obviously -
shows up less well on areas that
are painted grey or blue.
After that had dried, I painted two
coats of Tamiya clear acrylic - first
blue and then smoke on all of the
windows. I used green clear on
monitor screens on door controls. I
was happy with the windows even
if they are a bit too similar, tonally,
to the doors.

Had I planned it out better, I would have chosen a different colour for the doors
