I added some transfers - Archer
dry rub downs from their 1/48th
scale WW2 range - and painted on
some vehicle insignia as I didn’t
have any transfers for the Apex
Dragoons.
Then - to remove that ‘just out of
the factory’ look - I used about five
fairly familiar techniques.
The first were ‘pin-washes’: using
a brush to run thinned black
Humbrol enamel into cracks and
panel lines. That was followed by a
selected wash with MiG dark
brown stain over various areas,
including the vehicle commanders
(who I had previously blocked out
colour on for flesh and equipment).
