Painting the Marvelan Confederacy Enforcement Corps
Combat Car with brasswork fitted (the roof is not stuck on)
The new Antenociti’s Workshop (FATC) 15mm M577 Armoured Company box set arrived after Salute 2013 and they have been adapted as the Marvelan Confederacy Enforcement Corps (MCEC). These fine models bear an obvious family resemblance to famous film vehicles but that need not concern us here... Cleaning and Assembly After the toys were cleaned with acetone they needed almost no clean up at all. Some of the wheels had a little flash but everything else was  checked for fit and - other than the turrets being a tight fit - they all went together very well. Hatches and doors could sometimes be positioned open or closed, with alternate pieces where required to represent this. I left some doors open to allow crew members the option of egress or a commander or two with his head poking out. Figures were to be Commonwealth Brits from Armies Army and I wanted space to integrate some of these with the vehicles. Wheels were super glued in the ‘standard’ position. with a bit of cutting they can be stuck in a ‘raised’ or high suspension position to cope with terrain which is eminently sensible but didn’t fit with the aesthetic. Not very cool... Turrets - specifically the famous sliding turret - were drilled and pinned into position with a brass rod to allow rotation but no sliding. The front mini turret was simply stuck on as were the metal secondary weapons.
