Meridienne War phase 2I spent the day with Tony from Brigade and new player Silvio and we ran a game largely based on the encounter in the book The Warrior. We had slightly over two new detachments of Brigade’s latest Sincanmo Deserrt buggies and mounted infantry (ran by Tony) backed up (as per the story) by two detachments of Slammers. These were to be run by Silvio who - since he’s a new player - we thought it best not to go full into the madness of Slick and, anyway, we weren’t fielding Broglie’s Legion so there wouldn’t really be an opportunity for him to release his mania on (Slick, not Silvio!).The Sincanmo had some of their new Lizard mounts plus lots of new 4x4 Qaadi; 6x6 Naib; Half Track Amiir; and 8x8 Garaad along with Diabate himself in his uparmoured vehicle.Silvio’s Slammers had a mix of 4 TUs of Skimmer infantry and then four Blower tanks (two of which were the later M2A4UA). He had the balance of his force as Combat cars - mostly M9A1s with a couple of A7s and a Command car. Silvio had an Lt and an uprated sergeant i charge.Against these were two detachments of my Late Thunderbolts and two of my recenelty finished Hashemite National Army. The former had a selection of Br59 and Br66 in the anti-tank roles; long with a Centurion in support, a Schlepper and some Vikings - including one with an MLRS.The Hashemites had a National Brigade detachment with an MLRS and a pair of Gun Trucks but run by Major Zeid in his Mobarez leading his Desert Raiders.Or should I say the late Major Zeid..
