The Way of the Warrior - a Slammer's Scenario

"A soldier's job is to obey orders. The time when heroes put on their armour and went off to single combat, that ended four thousand years ago. D'ye understand me?" Captain Lucas Broglie. So the battle is set: attacking down through a notch in a terrain feature called Knifeblade Escarpment, the Slammers construct Task Force Kuykendall and - supported by Chief Diabate and his men of the Sincanmo Militia - they attack a mixed force of Hashemite regulars and the mercs in the Thunderbolt Division and Broglie's Legion. In the book the Slammers take the day with artillery support and - on a personal note - Des Grieux disobeys orders (as usual), lays in wait for Broglie's Tank destroyer and kills him. Slick is cashiered from the Slammers: "You're out of here… out f the Slammers for good and off planet fast, if you know what's good for you. I ought to let Joachim finish you… you're too dangerous to be left alive…" Alois Hammer. But how did it go in our game? The Crucible rules uses elite skills to add more colour and flavour to individuals and units and Slick Des Grieux is listed as one of the pre- generated Elite Personalities on page 146  (Broglie - his nemesis - is similarly listed on the following page of the rule book). Since the rules came out there have been some additions to them in the shape of five supplements and so I amended Slick slightly from what it gave him in the standard rules and the points were fiddled with slightly on that basis.
