New Ukrainian Army: The Zaporoyskiye Regiment in 15mm
Three Sokols with stowage and extra jerry cans Molot with extra cans of... something Xaoc with extra stowage Buran with rear deck stowage
Stowage After basic painting came the stowage. I bought pre-painted items from Hobby Master in 1/72nd for a number of reasons: they are a good size (a bed roll is a bed roll, after all, and a back-pack in 1/72nd is just a larger pack in 1/100) plus they are already painted! This was glued on and then the shading started. Dipping The vehicles were all dipped, stowage and all, in Army Painter Strong dip. I wore latex gloves and dipped first the front and then the back half of the vehicles in. My tin is probably getting a little thick after lots of use and they took a fair degree of brushing out afterwards to clear the excess. Then I hit them with some water slide decals which go well over the quite shiny finish of the dip. When that had all dried I dipped them again in Klear acrylic to seal the surface. Shading and weathering I added some edges as highlights in Army Painter Necrotic Flesh and some rust using various dark browns. Matt varnish After all that work had dried I reached for the Testors Dullcote. The reason I use Klear to seal the surface after the Army Painter dip (other than the fact that it’s another layer of varnish to protect my work) is that the Testors has, in the past, quite aggressively attacked the dip and I’m now very careful what I spray it over!
