THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE HAMMER’S SLAMMERSTHE CRUCIBLE RULES SYSTEM HANDBOOK
PaintThe Hiroseki were sprayed with Army Painter Army Green primer but - leaving those out of the equation and concentrating just on the Slammers - all were sprayed with Army painter Fur Brown primer and then dry brushed in Desert Yellow to bring out details. The webbing and pouches were painted in Army Painter Army Green with a highlight of the green with a touch of Skeleton Bone in it to lighten it without making it too pale. The skin was painted Barbarian Flesh with a highlight of a lighter skin tone (I can't remember which one) just on the nose tip and chin point where appropriate. Weapons and visors were painted a bright Silver (from the Warcolours One Coat paint range as it makes a nice flowing colour, but AP Sterling Silver would do the job almost as well) as were most of the skimmers, although I painted a couple - along with any buzz-bombs - in Army Painter Army Green for some variation (colours in the books are never specified). Bits on the guns (grips, shoulder pads, handles of pistols) plus all of the grenade launchers were painted in a dark grey I mixed up by eye. Finally, army patches were painted in One Coat Yellow (which did exactly what it said on the tin) with an attempt at a red Lion Rampant and a splash of colour over the breast for one of the Stim-Tabs. I painted some seat details in the dark grey on the Skimmers and I was, I thought, done. Then it was out with the dip!
