A Mini-Campaign game - Apex Dragoons v Solace Regulars
Solace Regulars and Freedom fighters in a last desperate stand Apex Dragoon Detachment: it's burning Slingshots and GIAT ADW vehicles halted by heavy fire Solace Freedom fighters are ridden down by the Apex vehicles as they win the scenario GIAT Tank Destroyer of the Apex Dragoons takes a hit but is still in the game
At this point, with only around one quarter of the remains of each of the regular detachments left on the table, this left the not inconsiderable numbers of remaining Freedom Fighters with no back-up, no transport and nowhere to go. The final act – in the fifth turn – was the Apex Dragoons using every Leadership Point available to them to get a vehicle TU close to the Objective Point and in the game. Conclusions & the spoils of war The Apex Dragoons had lost a handful of vehicles but not quite enough to take them to the ‘greater than 50% losses’ mark needed to check their morale. What killed the Solace forces was bad leadership (by which I mean mine!). Players in the campaign are rewarded with Elite Skills - Losers get one rolled but winners get to roll one and choose one. Jim got a lucky roll and an extra so wound up with three Elite Skills to use with his Apex Dragoons: Command Material, Defence Stalwart and Pathfinder. My Solace regulars bowled up Snapshot.
