Stop that ship! - a battle for the Spaceport
Alaudae Mosquito calliopes
Attack on the space port We decided to set up a short game to try out some new rules from the upcoming Supplement 5 and give a few heavy-hitters a work out. It was a four handed game with three players running opposition forces pitched against a Slammers force defending a drop ship. Forces The Attackers had: Two detachments of Alaudae Legion  mercenaries. These use hover Tanks and tank destroyers, APCs and so forth. They are armed with a selection of laser weapons and are elites. They were lead by a Colonel and a Lieutenant. A detachment of TAS Heavy armour with a couple of the fearsome HALO HSAG13 tanks and with the APC variant and air defence along for company. These are also Elites and led by a Major. Backing those up were two detachments of TAS Advanced Heavy Police: These had Wraith tanks and assorted other vehicles but had almost all of the infantry mounted on grav bikes, leaving the remote controlled 'Firefly' drones back at the station. Again Elites and led by a Captain and a Lieutenant . Facing them was a standard armoured detachment of Slammers (four blower tanks and four cars, one of which was a command car) and a late 'Prime Detachment' of up armoured blowers - four blower tanks and four cars, plus a jeep for a laugh. This had all of the Prime Detachment elite skills and was led by Lt June Ranson; the older dtatchment was led by a sergeant (Jack Scratchard, in fact).
