Infantry, Support and Artillery Organisation Standard Infantry units - usually company 7 - had a much higher proportion of infantry, all transported in Br54 MICVs or Vikings. They are often used to supplement other battalions (Command, for example) rather than operate on their own as they lacked heavier support vehicles. The Artillery Battalion (8) - usually held away from the action - had just one battery of 18cm launchers towed behind the Viking high mobility vehicles. These proved better able to handle rough terrain than the eight-wheeled Maniple transports used previously, but were less time-effective to set up In consequence, some Maniples were retained in use for situations where it was required that the artillery ‘shoot and scoot’. This issuewas less of a problem for units sited away from the action. Support detachments came from the Transport Battalion (9) which used wheeled transports and half-tracks. In the front line these were usually worked into a Support Detachment with MLRS units, air defence calliopes and Panzer- Schlepper Br58SM recovery and engineering vehicles. The latter was fitted with a dozer blade, lifting equipment and a stand off heavy missile launcher for demolition or anti-armour work but its primary function is to supply trained crew to help with field repairs. These crew specialists were usually spread amongst the forces vehicles where needed. The Support detachments had to train hard to deploy their MLRS systems nearer to the front line. The Reconnaissance Battalion had one company (10) of two squads (usually split into two detachments each) of eight Vikings, with their own Br56 command vehicles and placed great emphasis on highly trained snipers. Fighting Detachments were generally formed as required from whatever vehicles were needed for a particular action. Other forces During the fight back to Antargra beginning in 351, some Antargran forces went over to the Thunderbolts. Others surrendered and Chiro used their equipment - especially the Gryphon medium and Zentaur heavy tanks which provided the kind of armour he lacked. Add Antargran Regular Army Panzer detachments to Thunderbolt Division forces if required.
