The Waldheim Dragoons: a refit

Decals Decals were then applied from the Brigade Waldheim sets and they go on over the slightly glossy ‘Future’ surface very well indeed with extra help from Micro-set and Micro-sol to get them over the compound curves, where required. When dry they were given a light degree of both distressing where they needed it and a wash with Army Painter Soft thinned with water. Again, when dry, they got a quick daub over with a brush of plain Future – just to protect them from the Testors DullKote mat varnish I sprayed on later. After matting I added some more detail work (metal panels and more scratches, mud and headlights using Tamiya clear lacquers) and I was done. The Tamiya is painted over a silver ‘undercoat’ to make sure that it shines as much as possible. I used yellow for the main lights, blue for things like periscope glass and red for aiming gizmos. I sometimes mix up those colours but I certainly tend to stick to blue for windows and similar things. Conclusion The Waldheims are now fit to fight! I just need to get a newer detachment with some more of those nice recent vehicles reelases from Brigade to give them a helping hand!
