Broadside: Slammers defend a starbase
SLAMMERS FORCES The game had a trio pair of late Slammers detachments, based on the later lists. They had an Armoured Detachment led by an Lt whiuch had half tanks and half combat cars plus two of the Tanks – including the Command Tank – were the uparmoured M2A4UA. The second detachment had a pair of hogs with infantry on skimmers and, a Combat Car plus a Command Car with an Elite Sergeant in charge. As they were stationed in the centre of a town guarding a space landing base (two transports which were Eaglemoss Space 1999 Eagles in 1/100th and three Trek Original Series shuttles. The spaceships were parked up on a tarmac area top the side of the main town. A third detachment was comprised of infantry and a jeep and they were mostly hidden in buildings and the monorail station and were only revealed when they fired. They had a regular Sergeant and all of the armour were using Anti- ATGW Enhanced Data Link to take out missiles. RE-ENFORCEMENTS The three detachments in town were also waiting for a fourth detachment to show (which they did in the third turn). Coming on in the flank this detachment had two more Tanks (one uparmoured and one not) plus three more Combat Cars (two of which were the uparmoured M9A7) and a Command Car. For extra fun, Slick Des Grieux was manning one of the tanks, with Lt Carbury commanding.
