The GamePlay involved a fair degree of Hashemite and Thunderbolt forces springing traps and revealing themselves from cover which – being gentlemen – Silvio and Tony allowed me to do on the basis that I’d sketched a map which I kept hidden from them with my forces positioned upon it.In the first turn the Slammers and Hashemites tried to make the best progress they could: the Hashemites came down the central road with one force and took one flank while the Slammers took the other and worked their way around the downtown area.By the second turn I was dropping artillery rounds from my two MLRS (one Hashemite, one Thunderbolt) plus the Thunderbolt Centurion on the advancing enemy and neither had the resources to counter it. As it was on table artillery, even the Slammers tri-barrels weren’t going to be intercepting it but I was mostly aiming at the Sincanmo. Between that fire and some Thunderbolt infantry units that revealed themselves in buildings in downtown, the road was soon peppered with burning Sincanmo technicals. Fortunately for Tony, he had lots more to spare! What it did do was encourage him to move Chief Diabate off of the main road and into some cover: after all, that’s what the Federation Warriors are for!Slammers of the starboard bow...On the other flank Silvio did eventually lose a main gun from a Slammers Blower and a couple of tribarrels from combat cars but that was after some heavy fire from a pair of Zulfiqar with their ECAPs but the Hashemites were taking heavy hits all round.
